This dress is a piece from my collection titled “She Lives in a Dollhouse”, inspired by the architecture or dollhouses and my dad's family's wooden house in Borneo. While my dollhouse reflected fantasy and idealism, our real home carried a different kind of story, one of love, resourcefulness, and quiet strength. I want to emphasise the combination of the delicacy of the pink fabric (chiffon and organdy) with the rigidness of a real wood material (amoora wood) and bring back the conversation of craftsmanship into fashion.
