I’m Jo, the designer behind Jo Maree Millinery. I love the magic that happens when imagination, maths and millinery collide. For me that's when magic begins! My 2025 VRC Lillian Frank AM MBE Millinery Award entry, ‘Waterlily’, draws inspiration from the delicate balance and the serene beauty found in nature of a waterlily floating on water. Created from vibrant pink and turquoise organic bamboo and silk threads, each strand is meticulously woven over a geometric frame. The result is a sculptural piece that embodies movement, harmony and the quiet poetry of millinery as wearable art.
