Australian flowers are amazing. My headpiece is based on a simple headband with the oversized Waratah floating on a connected base. This is my version of a Waratah , with its overly large central base, smaller surrounding petals and long leaves framing it…and I chose to create it in this blue to move it from a simple recreation to a millinery version that is all about line and form - accented with silver spines to show off these lines. The petals, bracts and leaves are all hand tooled and wired then assembled to create the flower . The white dress is all about Spring and allows both the dress and the headpiece to shine with the addition of a self covered bag to be the final link in the whole Racing outfit.
