Hello, my name is Penelope Gervaise of Bluewing Design. I would like to introduce my entry into the 2025 ‘Lillian Frank AM MBE Millinery Award.’ FABULOUS FLORA - My bespoke headpiece has been inspired by the joy of springtime, from a garden in full bloom. This piece is a navy leather pillbox adorned with hand crafted silk flowers with hand painted leaves with Swarovski crystal stamens. I have used many millinery techniques from hand blocking to shaping and constructing silk flowers. I have enjoyed making this headpiece and I believe that all great design starts with inspiration or a concept then lots of research to ensure a great design solution. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Spring Carnival x
