What happened in Mount Isa
The Cup began its tour of Mount Isa visiting some of the town’s iconic locations before heading to the William Barton and Queensland Orchestra to celebrate the town's 100th anniversary with the local community.
The next day the Cup visited some local school students before attending an evening event hosted by Mount Isa Race Club. Guests gathered for a night to celebrate racing and hear from racing legend Glen Boss as he shared his favourite Melbourne Cup memories.
Mount Isa is a part of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour National Sweep, which sees 24 rural and regional Cup Tour destinations across Australia allocated a barrier for the 2023 Lexus Melbourne Cup.
The Cup travelled to Camooweal to visit the Royal Flying Doctors Service which is Mount Isa’s nominated charity for this year’s Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour National Sweep.
