What happened in Launceston
The coveted cup started its journey of Tasmania in Launceston where it attended an event hosted by the Tasmanian Turf Club. The event gave local owners, trainers and racing enthusiasts a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to get up close with this year’s Lexus Melbourne Cup.
Racing legend Michael Rodd travelled with the trophy to share his favourite Lexus Melbourne Cup racing memories and ended with some audience members asking some questions. Spring Carnival aspirants then took to the track.
