What happened in Pinjarra
The $600,000 trophy made the journey to Pinjarra alongside dual Lexus Melbourne Cup-winning jockey and Lexus Ambassador Corey Brown.
The Cup began its tour of Pinjarra at the Shire of Murray Chambers where staff and local sporting group representatives gathered for some morning tea while dual Lexus Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Corey Brown shared his favourite Lexus Melbourne Cup and racing memories.
In the afternoon, Cup travelled to Pinjarra Race Club for their local race meet to provide racegoers with the opportunity to take a photo with the 2023 Lexus Melbourne Cup for a gold coin donation to help raise funds for the Mandurah and Murray branch of Riding for the Disabled Association. The Cup then attended a private Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour luncheon held at the racetrack.
Pinjarra is a part of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour National Sweep, which sees 24 rural and regional Cup Tour destinations across Australia allocated a barrier for the 2023 Lexus Melbourne Cup.
