Rekindling my love for fabric-covered millinery. This piece celebrates how fabric can be transformed into sculptural statement millinery. I selected this striking gold and silver screen print on black silk for its bold, 1970s-inspired glamour. My design inspiration was ‘70s high fashion’, something dramatic, refined and worthy of an editorial moment in a 70s fashion magazine, yet modern for today. The tall, structured crown anchors the design, while three fine spokes extend beyond, creating a delicate balance of the silk fabric and crinoline discs in black, gold, and silver. Together they create movement, lightness, and bold visual rhythm without overwhelming the form.
