Emerging Designer Competition 2025

I am Ummama Ahmad, an emerging designer based in Brisbane, currently completing my final year at the Whitehouse Institute of Design. My graduate collection, Roseatte, reimagines femininity through the poetic metaphor of a rose in bloom. Inspired by gardens, Baroque architecture, and the artistry of nature, the collection reflects the layered unfolding of femininity, fragile yet resilient, delicate yet powerful. Rooted in romanticism and beauty, Roseatte transforms nature’s most delicate poetry into bold couture expression. Through this work, I aim to challenge perceptions of femininity, portraying it not as weakness, but as strength; unapologetic, complex, and ever-blooming.
