THERE WERE ROSES (2) caught the eye with a big finish on debut at Sandown Hillside, a long way back off a strong tempo and rattling home to just miss over 1500m. The winner there is the Victoria Derby favourite and entered in Race 7. She'll relish 1800m although the small field and lack of tempo may be the biggest issue. KOIBITO (1) is the one that will be up on speed and giving a sight. She was just edged out at Canterbury over 1550m last time but is bred to appreciate more ground and will take plenty of catching. SEYCHELLES (4) ran a nice race on debut at Geelong over 1512m when getting into third as a well supported commodity. She's another looking for a trip and she gets Shinn aboard. CLASSIC GEM (3) has been around the mark in three runs to date and is in the mix again. Watch the betting for a guide to debutant DON'T DOUBT DARE (6) for the sharp yard.
