DE BORTOLI WINES MATRON STAKES
Very tough. Siding with BENAGIL (1) who ran a solid race first up in the G3 Mannerism at Caulfield over 1400m, lugging the 60kg there and working home fairly for a narrow fifth. Out to 1600m second up suits, fancy she can take more improvement than a few rivals. DAMASK ROSE (5) has been solid in two runs back but is becoming a bit frustrating. The Mannerism looked her race on paper and she seemed to have her chance. Don't mind the wide draw and out to a mile for her. SEA WHAT I SEE (8) stuck on well fresh in the G3 Tressady and will be better to this trip. She lands in a good spot here and takes catching. TOO DARN DISCREET (6) was behind her there when well supported. 1400m was too sharp for her, this trip can see sharp improvement. MISS ARIA (7) next best.
