Congratulations Jamie Kah – 100 metropolitan wins in season 2020-21

10 July 2021 Written by VRC

The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) extends its congratulations to Jamie Kah, the first jockey to achieve the remarkable milestone of 100 Victorian metropolitan wins in a single season.

Jamie broke Brett Prebble’s 21-year record of 99.5 wins at Caulfield, becoming the first jockey to pass the magical 100 mark in metropolitan Melbourne.

VRC Chairman Neil Wilson said the record-breaking milestone was an extraordinary achievement that will be celebrated by racing and sports fans across the country.

“Jamie continues to inspire the next generation of jockeys and sportspeople with her understated approach and single-minded focus on being the best she can be,” Mr Wilson said.

“Her achievements on the track are underpinned by a genuine love for the animal that has seen her form rewarding partnerships with the horses she has ridden to victory, many of whom have reached new heights as a result.”

Jamie is a clear leader in both the Flemington and the Melbourne Jockeys’ Premierships, and with a little over three weeks of the season still to run, she may also secure the Victorian Jockeys’ Premiership.

“From her first Group 1 win on Harlem in the 2019 TAB Australian Cup to her 23 wins at Headquarters this season, Jamie holds a special place in Flemington history,” Mr Wilson said.

“We look forward to presenting Jamie with her Flemington Jockeys’ Premiership on our Season Finale Race Day on Saturday 17 July 2021, recognising and celebrating her incredible record-breaking season.”
