Group 1 racing for 2027 at Flemington gets underway with the nation’s elite sprinters contesting the $1 million Black Caviar Lightning (1000m), named in honour of the unbeaten sprint legend.
Key lead-ups for the Group 1 Australian Guineas are also on the card including the Group 3 C S Hayes Stakes (1400m) for colts and geldings, alongside the Listed Desirable Stakes (1400m) for fillies.
The Listed Elms Handicap (1400m) adds further interest, offering a coveted “Win and You’re In” berth into the $2 million Group 1 All-Star Mile (1600m), to be run on Super Saturday, March 6.
