Celebrate a legend at Flemington on Saturday 1 August as Phar Lap Race Day marks the 100 years since the birth of Australia’s most iconic racehorse.
Held on the Horses’ Birthday, the day honours every racehorse and recognises the heart of the sport, creating a fitting moment to celebrate racing’s champions past and present.
Experience Phar Lap: A Century of a Champion, a special exhibition showcasing rare memorabilia, historic photographs and unique artefacts. A highlight is the rare, restored horse float believed to have transported Phar Lap, offering a tangible connection to his remarkable story.
Phar Lap Race Day also signals the start of the 2026–27 racing season at Flemington, with the Group 3 Aurie’s Star Handicap (1200m) headlining the program.
