Race Preview

Handy little sprint. NADAL (2) was off a long, injury-enforced layoff in the G2 Caulfield Sprint but ran well after getting back in the field, looming up as some sort of hope before just giving out late. Stays at 1000m which is the knock although the wide draw should see him out of trouble, which wasn't the case when something licked here last year, albeit over 1200m. The winner that day was REY MAGNERIO (1) who also won the Caulfield Sprint first up, nearly a tragedy beaten when held up before charging through a late gap to win impressively. He's another who would prefer a bit more ground but on class, he's a deserving favourite. PRAIRIE FLOWER (10) is going okay and the straight should suit her turn of foot. SHEZANALISTER (11) struggled in a stronger G3 Sydney Stakes last time but the fresh run at 1000m reads well. MANOLO BLING (12) perhaps next best at a suitable trip.
