As we draw ever closer to the 2023 Melbourne Cup Carnival, the first ten days of the Members Carnival on sale were met with strong demand as members were eager to book their places for Penfolds Victoria Derby Day, Lexus Melbourne Cup Day, Kennedy Oaks Day, and TAB Champions Stakes Day.
On-sale dates were scheduled by race day this year with Members Dining, Car Parks and Members Enclosure Daily Guest Tickets released at set times across four days. Penfolds Victoria Derby Day went on sale on Tuesday 22 August, Lexus Melbourne Cup Day on Thursday 24 August, Kennedy Oaks Day on Thursday 29 August, and TAB Champions Stakes Day on Thursday 31 August.
Penfolds Victoria Derby Day went on sale on Tuesday 22 August at 10am with The Byerley, The Dining Room, Straight Six, The Atrium Flat and Atrium Tiered all sold out. Car Parks went on sale at 2pm and members were similarly keen to secure sites in The Rails Promenade, which is also sold out. The Nursery continues to be a popular way to kick off Cup Week with sites available.
Lexus Melbourne Cup Day sales told a similar story with The Club Stand and The Grandstand dining venues proving to be in high demand. A few bookings are available in The Atrium Flat and reserved tables in The Peak – an inviting space with entry into the VRC Punters Club, and a place to come and go as you please with access to plenty of retail food and bars nearby, and spectacular views over the Racecourse and Winning Post.
Kennedy Oaks Day and TAB Champions Stakes Day went on sale on Tuesday 29 and Thursday 31 August. Members dining has been popular – especially in Straight Six where only tables for TAB Champions Stakes Day remain – but members can still book into The Byerley, The Dining Room, The Atrium Flat and Atrium Tiered. The Peak also still has some reserved tables available for members and their guests to call their home for the day. The Rails Promenade and The Nursery similarly offer an attractive means to tailor your own experience for guests across these exclusive sites.
Lots of opportunities for members to enjoy Flemington during Cup Week
There are still plenty of options for members to get along to Flemington to soak up the magic across each of the four days – notably Curtis Stone’s Michelin-starred LA restaurant Gwen in The Birdcage and several car park spots in The Nursery.
There are also fantastic venues available on Kennedy Oaks Day and TAB Champions Stakes Day for members and their guests to experience the magic of Carnival.
Reserved Grandstand Seating
From next week, members will be able to book indoor Grandstand Reserved Seats located on Level 2 in The Atrium or Level 4 in The View for any Carnival race day to enjoy an uninterrupted view of all the elite racing action. Members 60 and over will be given a priority period to access members reserved seating via Ticketmaster from 10am on Monday 4 September.
All remaining members will have the opportunity to purchase from 10am on Tuesday 5 September.
Outside of all the pre-booked spaces, members can simply come to Flemington and scan into the Racecourse using their membership card, wander around the many boutique retail food outlets and casual bars across the course. Members can also enter The Birdcage with their guests and enjoy the impressive promenades, take a spot in the many unreserved seating areas, or find an escape at one of the retail offerings. With wagering facilities, entertainment, and access to the trackside racing action, The Birdcage presents a wonderful opportunity to savour the magic of Carnival for members.
