Cindy Alderson honoured with 2026 Country Achiever Award

18 June 2026 Written by VRC

The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) will host its annual VRC Country Race Day on Saturday 20 June 2026. The race day celebrates and recognises the dedication and contributions of regional participants across Victoria.

Country race club members will enjoy complimentary access to the VRC Members Enclosure on the race day upon presentation of their valid country race club membership card.

In conjunction with the Australian Trainers’ Association (ATA) and Country Racing Victoria (CRV), the VRC announces this year’s Country Achiever Award winner is Cranbourne trainer Cindy Alderson, who will be celebrated on the day with a race named in her honour.

The award recognises a country-based trainer who has made a significant, long-term contribution to the Australian thoroughbred racing industry.

Growing up in the saddle under the guidance of her father, legendary trainer Colin Alderson OAM, Cindy helped continue a proud 50-year family training tradition at Cranbourne. Today, she is enjoying a highly successful training career of her own, highlighted by stable star Jigsaw, who has put together an incredible winning streak in recent times including major success in New Zealand and Western Australia.
