Finals Day at Flemington is always a winter highlight

27 June 2023 Written by Racing & Sports

Every winter, the Listed VRC-CRV Winter Championship Final (1600m) is a great race on a big day of Finals racing at Flemington.

It will be a task to even make the field with all the nominations including the likes of King Magnus, Unusual Culture and the venerable So Si Bon back once again.

The Listed Santa Ana Lane Sprint Series Final (1200m) may not pack the Flemington straight but finding the winner won't be easy from the likes of Flying Mascot, Yulong Storm and Regardsmaree who is another of those attacking this first up.

We also see the Listed Taj Rossi Series Final (1600m) for the juveniles out to the mile. Some of these might end up as Derby or Oaks horses in the Spring. Steparty looks highly promising.

There is also the Creswick Sprint Series Final (1200m) for the 3yos, the Silver Bowl again for the 3yos but at 1600m plus the Mahogany Challenge (2500m) for the young stayers.

The other interesting race is the Banjo Paterson Final (2600m) where more experienced stayers for the Spring and some jumpers for the Winter will be watched.
