Global DJ phenomenom Fisher to close 2025 Melbourne Cup Carnival on TAB Champions Stakes Day

7 October 2025 Written by VRC

The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) is thrilled to announce global DJ phenomenon FISHER will close the 2025 Melbourne Cup Carnival with a spectacular performance in the new Elms precinct on TAB Champions Stakes Day, Saturday 8 November.

FISHER, one of the world’s most in demand DJs and music producers will perform an electrifying and energetic DJ set as part of the Melbourne Cup Carnival Off the Rails party after the last race on TAB Champions Stakes Day.

For the first time ever, the racetrack past the Winning Post will be opened after the final race, giving more racegoers the chance to step onto the track and enjoy an unforgettable experience with global sensation FISHER – all included in the price of a Flemington Pass (General Admission) entry ticket.

FISHER, born in Queensland, swapped a career in surfing for life as a globe-trotting, Grammy nominated superstar DJ and producer.  Known for his infectious energy, FISHER has gained worldwide acclaim for his electrifying DJ sets and chart-topping tracks. His breakout hit, Losing It, earned him his first Grammy nomination and has now garnered well over half a billion streams, solidifying its status as one of the biggest dance records of the decade.

FISHER’S global appeal has led to residencies in Las Vegas and Ibiza, performances at high-profile international music festivals, and even a float appearance at Carnival in Brazil before a staggering 250,000 people. He’s hosted his own South Beach pool party at the Delano Hotel during Miami Music Week and has headlined sets at Coachella.  FISHER adores playing to Australian crowds which led him to curate his own festival, Out 2 Lunch which is now known as Australia’s biggest beach party on the Gold Coast.  FISHER was recently named the best house DJ on the planet (and eighth-best DJ of any genre) by none other than DJ Mag.

VRC Chief Executive Officer Kylie Rogers said FISHER is an incredible fit to celebrate TAB Champions Stakes Day and close the 2025 Melbourne Cup Carnival.

“Securing an internationally recognised artist of FISHER’s calibre is truly exciting. FISHER is one of the world’s most electrifying and in-demand artists and the perfect entertainer to headline the Off the Rails party to celebrate the final day of the 2025 Melbourne Cup Carnival,” Ms Rogers said.

FISHER is thrilled to be returning to Australia in November and performing for the first time at the Melbourne Cup Carnival in front of thousands of racegoers.

“Melbourne, I’m so excited to come to party with you all at the Melbourne Cup Carnival.  Giddy up.” FISHER said.

This year, the world-class entertainment stage, moves to The Elms at the end of the straight at Flemington, just past the winning post.  Here, major international headline performers, including PNAU on Lexus Melbourne Cup Day and Craig David on Crown Oaks Day will take to the stage and event goers can enjoy all the action for the price of a Flemington Pass (General Admission) entry ticket.

The VRC will reveal more of the exceptional Melbourne Cup Carnival entertainment line-up soon.

The VRC extends their thanks to the Victorian State Government and Racing Victoria for their support via the Major Racing and Events Fund. Thanks to this support, the VRC can take Cup Week to the next level, bringing some of the world’s best entertainers to Flemington, creating unforgettable experiences for all to enjoy.

Minister for Racing Anthony Carbines welcomed the announcement.

“Nobody does trackside entertainment like we do in Victoria. This year we're supporting VRC to bring world-class acts to Flemington, like Fisher, to make sure the 2025 Spring Carnival is bigger and better than ever,” Mr Carbines said.

“When you back the racing industry, you back more than 35,000 Victorian jobs and $4.7 billion for the economy – it’s a sure bet.”

Racing Victoria CEO Aaron Morrison said the announcement was a perfect way to celebrate and wrap up the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

“Champions Stakes Day will be an exciting day on and off the track.

Thanks to the VRC and State Government for their initiative and support, I’m sure it will be an amazing event and a fitting finale to Melbourne Cup Week as part of the world-famous Spring Racing Carnival.”
