Harry Coffey: A good friend of the Good Friday Appeal

6 March 2024 Written by VRC

Harry Coffey loves racing, but admits it is even better when he wins, such as his recent victory on Makram in The Elms Handicap on Black Caviar Lightning Day. But the jockey's journey involves more than just victories on the track. He's also battled cystic fibrosis (CF) since he was a baby, showing incredible strength along the way.

A frequent visitor to the Royal Children's Hospital as a child and in his teens, Coffey has a special connection to the hospital and the Good Friday Appeal. He knows how important their support and expertise is because he's been there himself. By sharing his story, he hopes to inspire others facing similar challenges.

Now, as a parent himself to young Thomas, Coffey understands the importance of the Good Friday Appeal more than ever and encourages people to dig deep to contribute whatever they can to this important charity.

For more than 91 years, the Good Friday Appeal has raised funds for The Royal Children’s Hospital so that it can continue to provide world-class care for children from Victoria and beyond.
