Judging: Grand Finals, Oaks Day
What will you be looking for in entrants?
For me, it’s always about personal style and individuality. I love seeing someone who understands fashion but isn't afraid to interpret it in their own way.
What do you love most about Fashions on the Field?
It is the theatre of it all. Fashion should be fun, and there’s something so special about seeing people make an occasion of getting dressed. Oaks Day has such a wonderful fashion heritage, but I also love seeing that tradition evolve. It’s a celebration of creativity, individuality and the joy of dressing up, which I think we need more of!
Any advice for anyone thinking of entering?
My biggest advice is to stay true to your own style and not overthink it. Take risks, have fun with fashion and wear something that makes you feel incredible. I always think the most memorable looks feel effortless, even when a lot of thought goes into them. And remember, confidence is just as important as the outfit itself. How you wear it really makes the difference.
Your next great race-day look could already be in your wardrobe.
Give pre-loved fashion its moment in the spotlight at Fashions on the Field: The Remix, presented by Rack It Club, on TAB Champions Stakes Day, Saturday 7 November. With two categories – Best Dressed: The Remix and Best Suited: The Remix.
Rewear, rework or restyle a look that tells your story, then take to the stage and show Flemington how it’s done.
