VRC Chief Executive Officer Kylie Rogers said the Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour brings people together and shows the special connection that communities locally and around the world have with the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
“The Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour is about much more than just a trophy. It’s a beacon of hope and it’s about bringing people and communities together to share in the magic that is the People’s Cup,” said Rogers.
Now in its 24th year on the road, the tour’s impact is incredibly far-reaching across Australia and overseas. Whether it’s outback stations or big cities, we’ve seen how the trophy brings communities together.
“The Cup has been part of our national story since 1864, and the Tour gives communities the chance to experience that history in a way that’s meaningful to them.
I encourage all communities to apply and have the opportunity to host a piece of history in their hometown.
We look forward to celebrating their special milestones and moments along the road before the trophy returns to Flemington for the first Tuesday in November.”
Once selected as a Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour destination, communities will be supported by the VRC to plan and host a range of memorable community events during the Cup’s visit.
A stable of racing legends will accompany the Cup as tour ambassadors and share their unforgettable Lexus Melbourne Cup moments.
Applications can be made online via the VRC website at Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour until Thursday 30 April.
Successful 2026 Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour submissions will be announced in May, with the tour officially commencing its journey soon after.
