Pedestrian Passes

All guests entering The Rails Promenade will require a Rails Pedestrian Pass which will provide guests access to The Rails Promenade, The Birdcage and General Public areas of Flemington Racecourse.

After purchasing your car park site in The Rails Promenade, you will receive an email providing access to purchase Pedestrian Passes through Ticketmaster. Guests must show their Pedestrian Pass every time they enter The Rails Promenade area. Each site accommodates up to 15 members and/or guests.

VRC Members, Annual Guest Card holders and Daily Guest Ticket holders do not need to purchase a Pedestrian Pass as they can simply scan their cards or ticket for access. A Pedestrian Pass does not give your guest access to the Members Enclosure (The Club Stand and The Grandstand). Alternatively, if your guest wishes to enter the Members Enclosure, they will require a Daily Guest Ticket.

Purchase your Pedestrian Passes using your Membership Barcode for the following days:

Behavioral Protocols and Safety

Members are responsible for the conduct of all guests attending the Members Enclosure Car Parks under their membership, in accordance with the Membership Conditions.

To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all members and guests, the VRC works closely with Victoria Police on every race day. During the Melbourne Cup Carnival, you may notice an increased police presence across Flemington Racecourse. Please note that Victoria Police may, at their discretion, conduct vehicle searches upon entry to the racecourse.

If Members and/or their guests breach the Membership Conditions or venue policies, the VRC reserves the right to evict patrons from the venue, cancel tickets, deactivate Membership barcodes and refuse further entry to the racecourse.

Responsible Alcohol Management

The Rails Promenade is a much-loved family-friendly tradition, and we want every member and guest to enjoy a safe, respectful and memorable day.

Anyone who appears to be aged between 18 and 25 will be asked to wear a wristband, either on entry or by roaming security. Guests under 18 must not consume alcohol - please help us respect and uphold the law.

The VRC will take a firm approach to any minors consuming alcohol, excessive intoxication, public drunkenness and inappropriate conduct, including amenities violations and may result in patrons being asked to leave The Rails Promenade.

We care deeply about your wellbeing – to reduce the health risks from excessive alcohol, please remember these simple tips: pace yourself by alternating alcoholic drinks with water, enjoy food throughout the day, allow at least one hour per drink, and plan your safe transport home.
