Last chance to secure early bird tickets for a magical Melbourne Cup Carnival

27 July 2023 Written by VRC

Racegoers have less than one week left to make the most of early bird ticket prices for this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival, as the countdown begins to Australia’s ultimate celebration of sport, fashion, entertainment, food and wine.

With just 100 days to go until Penfolds Victoria Derby Day on Saturday 4 November, this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival will be bigger and better than ever, with early bird pricing on general admission tickets available until 31 July 2023.

The early bird offer sees a 30 per cent discount on the full price on general admission tickets, with adult pricing for Penfolds Victoria Derby Day $60, Lexus Melbourne Cup Day $67, and Kennedy Oaks Day and TAB Champions Stakes Day at $42.

Children under 12 years of age can also experience the Cup Week fun for free when accompanied by an adult, while early bird tickets for juniors aged between 12 and 17 start at as little as $13. Early bird family passes start at just $84 for two adults and two juniors under 17.

Relive all the excitement of the 2022 Melbourne Cup Carnival

Ticket sales for the 2023 Melbourne Cup Carnival are tracking ahead of this time last year, with excited racegoers rushing to secure their spot at Australia’s original major event.

Lexus Melbourne Cup Day continues to be the most popular day of the carnival, with racegoers keen to make the most of the public holiday. More than half the premium products across Flemington are now sold out on Lexus Melbourne Cup Day.

The popular and all-inclusive Furphy Deck is sold out across three of the four days, with very limited tickets remaining for Kennedy Oaks Day. Reserved seat sales have also been strong on Lexus Melbourne Cup Day, with limited reserved seat tickets remaining in the Lawn Stand.

General public patrons can also enjoy all the fun of The Park, the Melbourne Cup Carnival’s must-visit destination for foodies, fashionistas and music lovers which is free with every ticket.  The VRC will reveal the epic entertainment line up for The Park in the next two weeks.

This year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival will also see the debut of Palooza, a new festival style extravaganza located in a separate area at the east end of The Nursery over Cup Week featuring an epic line up of musical talent with tickets providing all-inclusive beverages and a food credit to redeem at food trucks across the four days. Ticket prices start from just $295 on Kennedy Oaks Day and TAB Champions Stakes Day.

VRC Chief Executive Steve Rosich said Cup Week is an unmissable and affordable event on the major events calendar.

“We have seen strong demand for Melbourne Cup Carnival tickets already and I encourage all prospective racegoers to make the most of the early bird offering up until Monday 31 July and get the best value for money,” Mr Rosich said.

“The 2023 Melbourne Cup Carnival is shaping up to be one of the biggest and best yet, with some exciting announcements to come including an exceptional entertainment line up of talent who will take to the Main Stage in The Park.”

“Whether you are a racing enthusiast taking in all the thoroughbred action from the Front Lawn, a fashion lover interested in competing in Fashions on the Field or a group of friends spending the race day in The Park, Cup Week at Flemington has something for everyone.”

The 2023 Melbourne Cup Carnival begins on Saturday 4 November with Penfolds Victoria Derby Day, followed by Lexus Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday 7 November, Kennedy Oaks Day on Thursday 9 November, and concludes with TAB Champions Stakes Day on Saturday 11 November.
