Away from the world-class racing action, Fashions on the Field returns with an on-course competition and Best Dressed and Best Suited titles up for grabs. Winners of each category will earn themselves fast-tracked entry to the Crown Oaks Day Daily Final.
There is fun for the whole family with pop-up bars, food trucks, and live music throughout the afternoon on the Front Lawn.
VRC Chief Executive Officer Kylie Rogers said she was looking forward to the first Group 1 race day of the new season at Flemington.
“There is a real buzz in the air for this weekend's Crown Makybe Diva Stakes Day, with some of the best horses in the country set to compete. The feature race is shaping up to be an epic contest headlined by Via Sistina who returns to Victoria for the first time this spring” Ms Rogers said.
“It is a privilege to welcome champion, Makybe Diva back on-track to meet fans, coinciding with the anniversary of her historic third Melbourne Cup triumph. We thank Tony Santic and the team at Makybe Stud for sharing her with the racing public.”
“The race day is the perfect start to an action-packed spring, setting the scene for the next two months at Flemington as we build up to this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival.”
Racegoers can support the VRC’s Pin & Win charity partner, Ronald McDonald House Charities VIC & TAS by purchasing a 2025 Lexus Melbourne Cup lapel pin on-course for $10 or $15 for the horseshoe diamante version. All purchasers will go into the draw to win a share in over $214,000 of prizes including a brand-new Lexus.
Gates open at 11:00am ahead of race 1 at 12:10pm. Flemington Pass (General Admission) tickets are $30 per person with children under 12 admitted free to Flemington.
