Step inside Flemington: Open Day stables tour returns

Flemington will open its gates on Spring Classics Preview Day on Sunday, 21 September 2025, for the annual Open Day, offering members and guests a rare chance to explore the heart of Australia’s most famous racecourse.

From 9:30 am to 12:00 pm, visitors can tour the stables of Flemington's leading trainers.

The morning provides a unique opportunity to step inside world-class racing facilities, meet the horses in their home environment, and witness the routines and care that support their wellbeing. 

Additional activities include pony rides, appearances from Living Legends, kids’ face painting, complimentary coffee, and a photo opportunity with the 1955 Melbourne Cup.

Entry is free with a Spring Classics Preview Day ticket, membership, or guest pass, but registration is required as spots are limited. Access is via the Members’ Car Park, with shuttle buses running every 5–10 minutes to and from the stables. Closed-toe footwear must be worn.
