Being a member of VRC means additional privileges at other leading racing and sporting clubs.

There’s more to being a VRC Member than all the special experiences you enjoy at Flemington. As a member, you’re also are automatically eligible for reciprocal privileges at other great racecourses and sporting clubs in Australia, and even around the world. This includes renowned Clubs like the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) and Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club.

Please note, as a result of COVID-19, many interstate, metropolitan and country clubs have limited capacities.

Be sure to contact the relevant club to understand their specific restrictions prior to attending.


VRC members will be admitted to Melbourne Racing Club’s member enclosures at Caulfield, Sandown and Mornington racecourses in addition to the members’ enclosure at Moonee Valley Racing Club on selected race days.

The Member must pay racecourse admission and present themselves at the hosting club’s Race Day Office with a current Full or Restricted VRC Members’ Card. 

VRC Members also have the opportunity to introduce guests to the Members’ Enclosure upon appropriate payment.

Flemington dining options for reciprocal members of other Clubs:

From two weeks prior to each race day (excluding the Melbourne Cup Carnival), reciprocal members who are entitled to Members Enclosure ticketing at Flemington Racecourse may book Members dining. Please call VRC Customer Service on 1300 727 575 to book.

The Melbourne Cricket Club is an icon of Australia sporting institutions, and VRC members are entitled to purchase visitor tickets to enter the MCC Members Reserve, for selected AFL and cricket matches played at the MCG.

Visitor tickets may only be purchased on match day when they present their current Full, Life, Provisional or Restricted VRC Membership Card.

Internationally renowned as "The Spiritual Home of Australian Tennis”, VRC members enjoy reciprocal rights to the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club.

All VRC Members are eligible to:

  • Access to the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club courts and clubhouse dressing facilities, on specified days, up to three times per year*
  • Access to dining during lunch, in the Racquet Club, up to three times per year.^
  • For tennis court and dining bookings, VRC Members must contact Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club reception between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday on (03) 9822 3333.

When you visit, VRC members simply need to report to the reception desk on arrival and present their VRC Membership Card.

*Tennis courts are available Fridays and Sundays after 3pm (except during the Priceline Pharmacy Classic Kooyong). Places are limited and subject to availability. Visitor fees apply.

VRC members visiting Victorian provincial and country race meetings will be issued with a members ticket, upon payment of the admission fee. This excludes cup days, the three days of the Warrnambool Cup Carnival and special event days as designated by the clubs.

Members are advised to contact the relevant club prior to attending.

Reciprocal privileges at interstate clubs

VRC Members are eligible to apply for reciprocal arrangements with interstate principal clubs and certain provincial clubs listed below, under the following conditions:

  • VRC member to pay racecourse admission
  • Member to present current full membership card at the secretary’s or raceday office of the host club
  • Interstate clubs may charge for reciprocal members enclosure tickets at their feature meetings. Visiting members may purchase up to two tickets for most of these meetings
  • VRC members attending non-feature-race meetings may sign in at the reciprocal club, and receive one members ticket free of charge. They also may purchase one additional ticket for a guest

  • VRC Member to pay racecourse admission

  • VRC Member to present current Full Membership Card at the Secretary’s or Raceday Office of the host club

  • Clubs may charge for reciprocal Members’ Enclosure tickets at their feature meetings

  • Visiting Members may purchase up to two tickets for these fixtures

  • Visiting Members’ arrangements for non-feature meetings require the Member to sign for a Members’ ticket free of charge, with the option to purchase one additional ticket.

VRC Members however are reminded that these arrangements have been established as a goodwill gesture between the clubs concerned and provide for a courteous extension of Members’ privileges on the occasions of intermittent, bona fide visits only.

When applying to the VRC, please state race club, country, travel dates, racemeetings, name of any guest(s) attending and accommodation details if available.

Contact will be made on your behalf to confirm reciprocal arrangements, costs and dress standards. Members will be notified via email or telephone.

We recommend that Members make contact with the international club prior to the race day to confirm arrangements. Members are generally required to pay racecourse admission fees, and then proceed to the oncourse enquiry office to arrange privileges by presenting a current Full VRC Membership Card and/or introductory letter.

Certain clubs prefer to deliver passes to your hotel or accommodation.

Please note that most clubs, during their carnival period or feature race days, enforce special conditions of entry and privileges offered to visiting Members.

Please ensure you make contact with the VRC well in advance to arrange reciprocal privileges.
